The Dedicated LINUX Server has run 96-108 bots for several years with Windows XP client machines connected to it on a LAN and there were no crashes. I'll get to the Assault Mod eventually. Since you have Hard Justice running start the 64 player version of the ISLAND CITY map.
Battlefield 2 is a classic multiplayer game that still boasts an incredibly strong community. You can still find full servers at all times of the day, and the community is very dedicated. Recently, EA announced that GameSpy, the server company that hosts the Battlefield 2 server list, would be shutting down on June 30th, 2014, effectively rendering Battlefield 2 unplayable. Thankfully, the community has responded and fan-made patches are in development to allow players to continue playing long after GameSpy shuts down. See Step 1 below to learn how to connect using GameSpy, how to connect after GameSpy closes its doors, and how to play once you are connected.
There's a blatant strategic advantage initially for American forces in the game. Just another example of American bias tainting mainstream popular culture in an effort to brainwash it's citizens into believing it's superior above all others. I for one see it as reprehensible, and perhaps this is a sign that EA games is in bed with the CIA to train the next generation of digital warriors. I mean, have you guys ever tried flying that bulky Russian troop transport helicopter? IT's like flying a giant elephant through the air.
In the 'Gulf of Oman' map, the MEC base is protected by a 2-shot missle launcher, whereas the carrier is protected by two missle-launchers with gattling guns. Being located offshore, it's a harder target to get to. Also, American forces start out with three bases and their own carrier, whereas the MEC forces only start out with two and one their base.
